Milling of Aluminum Power Amplifier Housing for the Aerospace Industry

An aerospace customer in Newtown Pennsylvania came to us to manufacture this power amplifier housing for a communications application. Utilizing our CNC milling capabilities, we milled the profile and pockets, drilled, counterbored and tapped the holes.

Finishing included the application of a Mil-Spec electroless nickel plating which featured a thickness of .0002" to .0003", and a Mil-spec iridescent yellow chemical film coating. The completed 6061-T6 aluminum component measured 7.860" long, 3.490" wide and 1.260", and met tolerances of ±.005", and ±0ᵒ-30', which where verified by CMM inspection of the parts.
